My wife and I are currently in India visiting family. In order to get here we took a flight from Memphis to Chicago (1.5 hours) then Chicago to Frankfurt (8 ish hours) Frankfurt to New Delhi (9.5 hours) a pain in the butt literally.
While we were in Frankfurt we were able to avail the services of a shower so that we could feel (as my wife puts it) human before our next leg to India.
In Frankfurt, we came across an old Indian lady who was walking aimlessly through the airport. She must have been 80 years old and was completely alone. She stopped us and asked us in Punjabi if we knew when the next bus to Canada was.....We of course were perplexed and our curiosity was piqued. Eventually, with the help of other passengers we found out that this lady was supposed to travel from India to Montreal. Her daughter who lives in Canada, had told her to get on the plane, and not to get off until she reached Canada. Unfortunately, no one bothered to tell her that she would have to change planes in Frankfurt. Apparently when she landed in Germany she was escorted on the plane to Montreal but she freaked out and started screaming, she started hitting the windows and begging to get off. Ultimately the plane was late by 45 minutes because of her and they left without her.
We were able to get in touch with her family in Canada after numerous phone calls to her relatives in India (she didn't know English, she didn't have any contact info and she was alone) Her son-in-law asked us to stay a night in Germany with her but we politely declined. No one there wanted to help her, however we were able to get one lady to promise to drive her to her village once we got her to India provided my wife and I got her to India.
Well we took her to India and when we got off the plane the lady who promised to help disappeared (of course) and we were left with this 80 year old with no one to pick her up at Delhi. We paid her fare on a bus to her home town and paid off the driver to take her home.

I hope she is fine now but I guess we will never know. What is bad is that no one wanted to help this lady, they were more interested in making fun of her.
