these days the raging debate is about the danish cartoon. I don't agree with the decision of some people to start burning stuff. I think it is vital for those countries in which freedom of speech is a right, to protect it. However at the same time people shouldn't confuse freedom of speech , "freedom to hurt people". The very fact that the newspaper ellicited cartoons, shows an intent to hurt feelings and trample on beliefs.

Today my Friend CM, in India lost his father. Uncle was a good honest man. CM looked up to him a lot and the interactions I had with him were always great. Uncle you will be missed. may Waheguru protect your soul.

today is a miserable day in Memphis. Miserable as far as weather is concerned....for a saturday. It has "snowed" (i think it is more like frozen rain). and in a city which is unprepared for this type of weather you are kind of stuck inside the house.

On Wednesday jessi and I saw Rang de Basanti. I felt it was one of the best (if not best) indian movies I have ever seen. I like to read various discussion boards and blogs, one of which is sikhnet, I was amazed to see that some people actually have a problm with the movie. I think that some people felt that the sikh character wasn't "sikh" enough. I think it is better than what has been portrayed in the past and that one day you can have a character to everyones liking but for now this is awesome.

If you haven't seen this movie and you are familiar with life in India I strongly suggest it to you.
